12-Year-Old Crash Survivor Turns Candyfloss Into a Business and Inspiration

Hashir Aziz, a 12-year-old from Shipley, will run a candyfloss stall at the North London Youth Gala this Sunday. The event will also include performances by Muslim Belal and B-Shaf. Aziz will hand out free candyfloss and share his inspiring story in a speech. Aziz learned to make candyfloss with one hand while recovering from a car crash in May 2023. The accident left him with limited use of his left hand after multiple surgeries. Despite his injuries, he started a candyfloss business and has since been hired for 20 events, including birthday parties and weddings.

He often donates his services and ingredients for free at charity events. His injuries have stopped him from playing some sports, but he has stayed positive. At the gala, he will speak about overcoming challenges and maintaining a hopeful outlook. Aziz will give out free candyfloss sticks to over 300 attendees at the Edmonton Mosque event. His stall and speech will be part of a day celebrating community and resilience. The gala promises to be a memorable occasion for all involved.
