Region's healthcare overhaul brings new hospitals and cutting-edge tech to rural areas

A major upgrade of healthcare services is underway across the region. Over 63% of medical infrastructure has been modernised, with rural areas seeing the most progress. The changes include new hospitals, clinics, and advanced equipment to improve patient care. This year, newly reconstructed central district hospitals in Panfilov, Kerbulak, and Aksu will open their doors. The regional children’s hospital in Taldykorgan is also set to begin operations soon. In the regional capital, a new polyclinic capable of handling 500 patient visits per shift will launch.

The region has acquired 29 new ambulances and 165 units of advanced medical equipment in the past year. Equipment modernisation across facilities now stands at 93%. Since its establishment, the region has commissioned 149 new healthcare sites.

To attract medical staff, relocation bonuses of 5 to 10 million tenge have been introduced. Between 2024 and 2025, 153 young specialists have joined the region’s healthcare system, with 57 working in rural areas and 96 in cities. The national Modernization of Rural Healthcare project has also funded the construction of 59 medical institutions and major renovations of 13 others.

A new joint educational and research base now allows local doctors to perform complex surgeries and use advanced diagnostic methods. The region’s healthcare system is expanding rapidly. New facilities, modern equipment, and financial incentives for workers aim to improve access and quality of care. These changes are expected to benefit both urban and rural communities.
