Magadan boosts 2026 healthcare budget to improve Kolyma's medical services
The Magadan Regional Duma has approved a new law raising the 2026 budget for the Magadan Regional Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund. The decision aims to enhance medical services and support residents across the Kolyma region. Under the new law, the Fund’s revenue will rise by 21.5 million rubles, bringing the total to 11.3 billion rubles. Expenditures are also set to increase by 544 million rubles, reaching 11.8 billion rubles. To balance the budget, the normalized insurance reserve has been boosted by 59.2 million rubles.
A projected deficit of 522.6 million rubles will be covered using leftover funds from 2025. The extra revenue and reserve will provide more stable financing for medical institutions. This will also improve access to diagnostics and ensure timely treatment for residents, including those outside the region. The budget adjustments are designed to improve healthcare quality and financial security for the Fund. The increased reserves will help maintain stability while addressing the needs of Kolyma’s population. The plan ensures that medical institutions receive consistent support despite the projected deficit.
