Magadan's new outdoor gyms to boost student fitness by September

Two modern fitness zones will open in Magadan this year. They will be built on vacant lots at the Eco-Biological Lyceum and School No. 28. The facilities aim to encourage students to adopt a more active lifestyle. Construction of the outdoor gyms is set to finish by the end of September. Each zone will include equipment for upper-body workouts, abdominal and back exercises, parallel bars, and more. A Swedish wall, pull-up bars, an elliptical trainer, a stationary bike, and a bench press station will also be available.

The areas will feature shock-absorbing flooring to improve safety and comfort. The project is part of the state programme Development of Physical Culture and Sports, which supports the national initiative Long and Active Life. The new fitness zones are designed to help students meet GTO standards and boost their health. Once completed, they will provide free access to modern workout equipment. The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to integrate sports into daily school life.
