Talaya Health Resort Reopens After Massive 6 Billion Ruble Revamp

The Talaya health resort officially reopened on 12 June 2023 after a complete renovation. The project was made possible through a public-private partnership, with Alexander Basanasky serving as the primary investor. Local and regional leaders gathered to mark the occasion. The resort has been transformed into a modern balneological facility equipped with advanced medical technology. It now includes four accommodation buildings, an open-air thermal pool, a year-round ice rink, a tennis court, and an agricultural complex. The site can host 320 guests and features a dedicated children’s wing with 85 beds.

Basanasky’s investment exceeded 6 billion rubles, with over 1 billion rubles spent on state-of-the-art medical equipment. Governor Sergei Nosov emphasised the resort’s healing properties and its importance for the region’s residents. Petr Burmistrov, First Deputy Chairman of the Magadan City Duma, noted the positive impact on public health.

Sergei Smirnov, Chairman of the Magadan City Duma, also attended the ceremony. He highlighted the reopening as a significant event for local residents. The revived resort now offers expanded facilities and improved medical services. Its reopening is expected to benefit the health and well-being of Magadan’s population. The project demonstrates the potential of public-private collaboration in regional development.
