Free First Aid Training Day Prepares Volunteers for Family Emergencies

A free first aid training day will take place on July 4, 2023, in Arnsberg. The event is hosted by the city of Arnsberg and the town of Sundern, with support from the Zonta Club Arnsberg. It is designed for volunteers involved in the 'Die Schaukel' project. The workshop runs from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM at the Bürgerbahnhof Arnsberg. Its theme, 'Ready for Family Support,' blends traditional first aid with a focus on paediatric emergencies. Hands-on learning is a key part of the course.

'Die Schaukel' is a volunteer-driven initiative launched in 2005 by the Zonta Club Arnsberg. It provides daily support to families in Arnsberg and Sundern. Local representatives from both towns coordinate the project.

Participants who complete the training will receive an official DGUV-standard certificate. This certificate is valid for accident insurance but cannot be used for driver’s licence requirements. Interested individuals can sign up immediately with the project coordinators. The training aims to equip volunteers with essential first aid skills.
