264 Youth Graduate from BD India's Free Skill Training Program

BD India/South Asia and the HOPE Foundation have celebrated the graduation of 264 youth from their skill-based education programme. The initiative, running since 2018, provides free training in Nursing Assistant and Tally to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The partnership between BD and the HOPE Foundation has trained over 2200 students in eight years. More than 80% of these graduates have secured employment, with many being women from low-income families.

The Nursing Assistant course includes six months of practical training in well-known hospitals. The Tally programme equips students with accounting skills. Both courses target those who have completed their 10th class education.

KS. Wungchipem, Director of Skill Development for North & East India at the HOPE Foundation, highlighted the success of the collaboration. He noted that over 1750 graduates have found jobs through the programme. Atul Grover, Managing Director of BD India/South Asia, expressed pride in the initiative’s role in boosting employability and confidence among students.

BD, a global medical technology company, focuses on improving health through better diagnostics and care. The organisation has now committed to extending the partnership for a ninth year. The next phase will train 320 youth in Nursing Assistant, Tally, and Advanced Excel + SQL courses. The programme has provided free education and job opportunities to thousands of students in need. With the partnership renewed, another 320 youth will receive training in valuable skills. The initiative continues to support economic empowerment through targeted vocational courses.
