Kuwait Honors Tamu Society for Lifesaving Blood Donation Drives

Tamu Society Kuwait has received official recognition for its work in organising blood donation drives. The group was named one of the country’s top ten active donor organisations. The honour came during World Blood Donor Day celebrations in Kuwait. The Kuwait Ministry of Health presented the award to Tamu Society Kuwait on June 6, 2023. By that date, over 500,000 people in Kuwait had donated blood and platelets. The society expressed thanks to its volunteer donors and supporters for their efforts.

Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi praised all blood donors for their contributions. Officials called blood donation a 'gift of life' that saves patients and fosters community unity. Former Tamu Society president Khop Gurung was also honoured for his dedication to community service. The recognition marks a key achievement for the Nepali community in Kuwait. Tamu Society Kuwait’s ongoing drives have secured its place among the most active donor groups in the country. The award highlights the importance of voluntary blood donations in saving lives.
