Germany will mark the 7th Heart Week from 15 to 19 June 2026. Pharmacies nationwide will host health consultations and checks under the slogan #herzenssache. The event aims to raise awareness about heart health, prevention, and emergency response. Heart disease remains one of the top causes of death in Germany. Saxony-Anhalt reports particularly high mortality rates from acute heart attacks. This year’s campaign will highlight the differences in how heart conditions affect men and women.
During Heart Week, pharmacies will offer blood pressure measurements and heart age assessments. Visitors can also receive advice on diet, exercise, and quitting smoking. Medication reviews will help optimise drug therapy and demonstrate proper emergency actions.
Information on heart attack risk factors will be available, with a focus on gender-specific symptoms. Women often experience atypical signs such as nausea, fatigue, or pain in the throat and neck. The German Heart Foundation will provide additional materials for visitors to take home.
For more details on events, people can visit the official website at https://www.dein-herz-und-du.de/. The initiative will run for five days across the country. Pharmacies will play a key role in educating the public about heart health and prevention. Free resources and checks will be accessible to all participants during the week.
