Nizhny Novgorod opens multiple safe lakes for summer swimming
Several lakes in Nizhny Novgorod have been declared safe for swimming. Authorities have confirmed that multiple beaches now meet sanitary standards. The public can enjoy these locations without health concerns. In the Kanavinsky District, both beaches of Lake Sortirovochnoye and Lake Bolnichnoye are open for swimming. The Sormovsky District has also approved both beaches of Lake Svetloyarskoye. Additionally, Lake Lunskoye and Lake Pestichnoye in Sormovo are now available for public use.
In the Leninsky District, both beaches of Lake Silikatnoye have passed inspections. Swimming is also permitted in the lake at the First Stage Culture and Recreation Park on Smirnov Street in the Avtozavodsky District. The lake at the Second Stage Culture and Recreation Park on Molodyozhny Prospect is likewise safe.
Rospotrebnadzor continues to test water quality at these and other recreation sites. Any lakes not included in the official list remain unrecommended for swimming. The confirmed lakes provide safe options for residents and visitors. Officials will keep monitoring water conditions to ensure ongoing safety. Only the listed locations have been approved for swimming at this time.
