Mass health screenings in Primorsky Krai reveal alarming medical trends

In the first four months of this year, over 286,000 residents of Primorsky Krai completed preventive medical examinations and health check-ups. The programme identified a range of conditions, with many participants requiring follow-up assessments. A total of 286,106 people took part in the screenings. Of these, 49,769 underwent routine preventive checks, while 236,337 had full medical examinations.

The results revealed significant health concerns. Doctors detected 4,891 circulatory system disorders, 476 respiratory diseases, and 575 cases of diabetes. They also found 54 previously undiagnosed malignant tumours. Additionally, 7,885 men and 9,695 women showed risk factors affecting reproductive health.

Nearly 85,000 residents were referred for further testing after abnormalities were found. One in three examined individuals needed a second-stage assessment. The initial checks alone led to 84,901 referrals for deeper evaluation. The screenings highlighted widespread health issues among participants. Thousands now face additional tests or treatment for serious conditions. The programme continues to monitor and address the region’s health needs.
