India's First Doctor-Led Brain Wellness Program Launches for Seniors
India’s first doctor-led brain wellness programme for seniors has launched. ActiveMind Daily is designed to fit the rhythms of Indian family life and requires no screen time from older adults. The initiative aims to support memory, language, and attention through simple daily activities. The programme was created by Dr. Sweta Sahu, a physician and researcher with experience at Johns Hopkins, the Cleveland Clinic, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She co-founded ActiveMind Daily with Dr. Sri Sravya Thungathurthi, a physician specialising in healthy ageing and preventive medicine.
ActiveMind Daily offers one short daily activity to strengthen cognitive skills and family connections. Its framework follows evidence-based guidance from the World Health Organization and the National Institute on Aging.
A 10-day pilot is now open for 50 founding families. Interested participants can start with a free 30-second brain wellness check and try three sample activities. Full registration is available at activeminddaily.in/check. The pilot programme is limited to the first 50 families. It provides a structured way for seniors to engage in brain-stimulating activities without relying on screens. The initiative marks a new approach to brain wellness tailored for Indian households.
