Princess of Wales Conquers Three Peaks in 24-Hour Cancer Fundraiser

The Princess of Wales has completed a demanding 24-hour challenge to raise awareness for cancer care. Kate, aged 44, scaled the three highest peaks in Britain—Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis, and Snowdon—solo, with support from Mountain Rescue along the way. Her effort aims to boost funds for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. Kate’s journey began after she underwent major abdominal surgery in early 2024. The procedure revealed cancer, leading to preventative chemotherapy. Following treatment, she entered remission from the undisclosed form of the disease.

Her experience inspired her to meet others living with and beyond cancer. The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity supports the hospital where she received care, and her challenge seeks to highlight holistic approaches to treatment.

At the end of the climb, her husband, Prince William, and their three children greeted her. Her parents and brother were also there to welcome her after the gruelling feat. The Princess of Wales has now completed her solo ascent of Britain’s tallest peaks. The challenge raises funds and awareness for cancer support services. Her family joined her to mark the achievement after her recovery from treatment.
