Historic Russian Spa Reopens After Seven Years of Modernization
The Talaya Multidisciplinary Balneotherapy and Mud Spa resort has reopened in Russia’s Magadan Region after seven years of major reconstruction. Known for its silica-rich thermal waters, medicinal mud, and unique climate, the resort first opened in 1940 under the name Goryachiye Klyuchi. Work on the resort began in 2019. The overhaul included new residential buildings, modernised infrastructure, and updated technical equipment. It now has four comfortable residential buildings, allowing it to host 364 guests at once. One building is dedicated to children, with 85 beds.
The resort offers a range of facilities. These include two mineral hydrotherapy pools, a 25-metre swimming pool, a salt therapy room, saunas, solariums, massage parlours, and fitness studios. A new cutting-edge medical and wellness complex provides traditional mud baths, physiotherapy, an ultrasound room, and a rehabilitation gym.
Guests can also enjoy cultural and leisure amenities. The cultural centre features a 50-seat conference hall and a disco hall that can be used as a cinema. New additions to the grounds include a restaurant, an open-air concert stage, an indoor skating rink, scenic walking paths, and changing facilities near the thermal pool. Aleksandr Basansky, the person overseeing the project, wished visitors well on their stay. The resort has transformed into a modern destination for health and relaxation. Its expanded facilities and updated infrastructure aim to provide a comprehensive experience for all visitors. The reopening marks the end of a lengthy renovation process.
