Magadan's new maternity hospital secures federal funding for remote regions

A new maternity hospital in Magadan has been included in a federal list of 25 major infrastructure projects. The facility is part of Russia’s National Welfare Fund and government programmes, ensuring stable funding for its completion. Governor Sergei Nosov secured its place on the updated list signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The hospital will be a 20,000-square-metre complex with an 80-bed inpatient unit, a modern women’s clinic, and a day hospital. It will serve Magadan, Chukotka, and Kamchatka, aiming to reduce maternal and infant mortality in these regions.

The project falls under the People’s Program of the United Russia party. It will receive uninterrupted funding for its final phase. Strict oversight by state and regulatory bodies will prevent corruption, ensure efficient spending, and guarantee on-time delivery.

Advanced Russian-made medical equipment will outfit the facility, including cutting-edge neonatal care systems. The federal list also covers other key projects, such as the Kamchatka Regional Hospital, children’s hospitals in Omsk, Tver, and Komsomolsk-on-Amur, as well as road and urban improvement works across Russia. The maternity hospital’s inclusion in the federal programme secures its construction and operation. It will provide essential healthcare services to remote regions. The project reflects broader efforts to upgrade medical infrastructure nationwide.
