Belarus bans Russian dietary supplements over unsafe dosage risks
Belarus has banned the import and sale of several Russian-made dietary supplements. The Health Ministry announced the decision after finding that the products exceeded safe dosage limits. Officials warned consumers to check product details before buying any supplements online. The banned items include Vitamin D3 2000 IU, Vitamin D3 + K2, Vitamin D3K2 2000 IU, Selenium, Vitamins D3+K2 GLS, Biotin, and Vitamin D3 MAX. These supplements come from companies like Biofarm LLC, Zhiva Produkt Pro LLC, Global HealthCare LLC, Supplement Group LLC, and WinLab Nutrition LLC.
According to the ministry, the daily doses in these products break the rules set by the Eurasian Economic Union. Many of the supplements are sold on platforms such as Wildberries and Ozon without requiring prescriptions, despite containing therapeutic levels of ingredients. Authorities stressed that health should not be risked by misleading marketing. They advised buyers to study labels and avoid unverified claims when selecting supplements.
The ban affects only Belarus for now, as no other countries in the Eurasian Economic Union have taken similar action in recent years. The ministry's warning highlights the need for caution when purchasing supplements online. Consumers must verify product safety before use.
