Central Luzon Hospital Unveils Advanced Infectious Disease Hub

New medical facilities have opened at a hospital in Central Luzon to strengthen the region’s fight against infectious diseases. The upgrades include a dedicated treatment centre and a high-tech laboratory for faster, more accurate testing. The hospital has launched two key units: the Center for Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine and the Central Luzon Infectious Disease Referral Laboratory. The lab is now fully operational, capable of detecting respiratory viruses, vaccine-preventable illnesses, dengue, leptospirosis, mpox, HIV, hepatitis, tuberculosis, and drug-resistant strains.

The treatment centre itself is equipped with specialised beds for isolation, emergency care, and intensive treatment. It also houses an operating theatre, a delivery room, hemodialysis facilities, and secure isolation wards. These additions will expand the hospital’s ability to diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of infectious diseases.

With the new laboratory and treatment centre in place, the hospital can now handle more cases and provide faster test results. The upgrades aim to improve patient care and reduce the spread of infectious diseases across the region.
