Coop recalls parsley products over possible metal contamination risk
Coop has issued an urgent recall for several products containing parsley due to possible metal contamination. The affected items were sold exclusively in January 2026 across multiple store formats. Customers are being warned not to consume them as they may pose a health risk.
The recall covers six specific products: Betty Bossi chopped parsley (20g), Freshly Made Protein Salad (325g), Betty Bossi Protein Salad (325g), Butterfly garlic shrimp (pre-packaged), Garlic shrimp with tails (pre-packaged), and Sunday roast (pre-packaged). All were available for purchase only in January 2026.
The contaminated items were distributed through various Coop outlets, including Coop supermarkets, Coop to go, Coop City department stores, Coop Pronto convenience stores, and Jumbo locations. No other dates or products are affected by this alert.
Coop has confirmed that no information links these products to paraquat contamination. The recall remains focused solely on potential metal fragments in the parsley-based items.
Customers who bought any of the listed products in January 2026 are advised to dispose of them immediately. Coop has not reported any illnesses linked to the contamination so far. Further updates will be provided if new details emerge.
