DaVita reports first profitable year in kidney care with bold 2026 growth plans

DaVita has announced strong financial results for 2025, marking its first profitable year in Integrated Kidney Care (IKC). The company also revealed ambitious growth targets for 2026, backed by clinical advancements and strategic partnerships.

Key achievements include higher vaccination rates, improved dialysis technologies, and a new collaboration with Elara Caring to enhance end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) care.

The company's financial performance exceeded expectations, with adjusted earnings per share (EPS) from continuing operations reaching $3.40 in the fourth quarter. For the full year, adjusted EPS stood at $10.78. Free cash flow also saw a significant rise, hitting $309 million in Q4 and surpassing $1 billion for 2025.

Revenue per treatment grew by 3-5% year-over-year in Q4, driven by clinical initiatives like the IKC programme. This programme, along with partnerships with payers such as Optum, improved treatment efficiency and reimbursement rates. Patients under IKC were 35% more likely to begin dialysis with a permanent vascular access, reducing early-stage costs and enhancing care quality.

Looking ahead, DaVita projects adjusted EPS for 2026 to range between $13.60 and $15.00, reflecting a 33% growth at the midpoint. Adjusted operating income is forecasted to reach $2.085 billion to $2.235 billion, a 3.2% increase at the midpoint. CEO Javier Rodriguez highlighted the company's disciplined execution, reinforcing confidence in sustained growth over the next three years.

The firm also remains committed to its long-term growth target of 3% to 7% annually. Clinical priorities, including dialysis innovation and vaccination efforts, will continue to play a central role in its strategy.

DaVita's 2025 results demonstrate progress in both financial and clinical performance. With a clear focus on expanding IKC and strengthening partnerships, the company aims to maintain growth in 2026. The outlook reinforces its position as a leader in kidney care, supported by measurable improvements in patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
