Fitbit integrates full medical records with AI-powered health coaching

Fitbit users in the US will soon connect their full medical records to the app. Starting next month The new system will let users link lab results, medication lists, and visit histories to their Fitbit accounts. This data will feed into the Fitbit personal health coach, powered by Google’s Gemini AI. The AI-driven coach will then analyse the information to give customised recommendations.

Users can ask the coach specific questions, such as *‘How can I improve my cholesterol?’* The system will also provide health summaries based on the linked records. Google has confirmed that broader support for medical record integration will follow in the coming months.

The update means Fitbit will now pull from official medical histories to shape its advice. Users will receive insights directly tied to their lab work, prescriptions, and past doctor visits. The feature launches first in the US before a wider release.
