Free public event tackles back pain, osteoporosis, and spinal health solutions

Braunschweig Municipal Hospital (skbs) is holding a public event on degenerative spinal conditions and osteoporosis. The session will cover treatments, complications, and practical advice for managing back pain. Experts will lead discussions and answer questions from attendees. The event takes place on Wednesday, May 27, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians’ offices on An der Petrikirche 1. Prof. Dr. Klaus Zweckberger, head of neurosurgery, will open the session with introductory remarks.

Five specialists will then present on different topics. Prof. Zweckberger will explain modern treatments for herniated discs. Senior Physician Antoine Abboud will focus on spinal stenosis, offering ways to walk with less pain. Senior Physician Alina Bernhardt will compare conservative and surgical methods for back pain. Senior Physician Majed El Sayed Kassem will highlight the risks linked to osteoporosis. Senior Physician Dr. Ernst Rzesacz will guide attendees on handling vertebral fractures. After the talks, all experts will be available for further discussion. Back pain affects nearly everyone at some point, often from poor posture or overexertion. The event aims to provide clear, up-to-date information on managing these common issues.

The two-hour session offers a chance to learn directly from medical professionals. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of treatment options and preventive measures. The event is free and open to anyone interested in spinal health or osteoporosis care.
