German man loses driving privileges after testing positive for THC at police station
A 29-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman from Zetel arrived at Varel police station on the evening of Tuesday, March 24, 2026. Officers quickly suspected the man was under the influence of drugs after he drove himself to the station in a car. The man underwent a preliminary drug test at the station. Results came back positive for THC, the active compound in cannabis. Due to his impaired state, police immediately banned him from driving any further.
A blood sample was later taken to confirm the findings. The incident began when both individuals voluntarily presented themselves at the police station that evening.
The man now faces potential legal consequences following the positive drug test. His driving ban remains in effect while authorities await the results of the blood analysis.
