Healthy Snack Boom Draws THE HONEST FARMER to Vietnam's E-Commerce Scene
THE HONEST FARMER Co. Ltd is bringing its Black Barley & Brown Rice Chips to Vietnam's booming e-commerce market. The move comes as demand for healthier snacks rises sharply across the country. Vietnamese shoppers increasingly prioritise products free from trans fats, excess sodium, and added sugars—key features of the company's chips.
The company has partnered with a local distributor to list its products on major Vietnamese online platforms. This approach skips traditional retail, allowing direct delivery to consumers. Labels in Vietnamese are now being finalised, highlighting ingredients, nutritional details, and production methods.
Over the past three years, Vietnam's e-commerce sector has seen explosive growth. Shopee Vietnam led the surge, with registered users jumping from 60 million to over 90 million. Healthy snack sales on the platform soared by 150%, reaching 500 billion VND annually. Lazada followed, growing from 40 million to 65 million users and a 120% sales increase to 300 billion VND. Tiki, though smaller, expanded from 20 million to 35 million users, doubling its healthy snack revenue to 150 billion VND.
The expansion also aligns with broader social shifts. Single-person households are on the rise, and busy lifestyles drive demand for convenient, ready-to-eat foods. THE HONEST FARMER plans to track customer feedback closely. If needed, it may develop new flavours tailored to local preferences and eating habits.
The company's chips enter a market where health-conscious buyers are fueling rapid e-commerce growth. By focusing on transparency and direct sales, THE HONEST FARMER aims to meet rising demand for nutritious, hassle-free snacks. Success could lead to further product adaptations for Vietnamese consumers.
