Heidelberg University's Health Week Puts Heart Wellness in Focus

Heidelberg University will host its annual 'Univitality Health Week' from 29th September to 2nd October 2025. The event, organised by University Health Management, aims to promote cardiovascular health among students and staff. Talks, workshops, and physical activities will take place across campus throughout the week. The week kicks off on 29th September with Janik Meyer’s talk on the 'Foundations of Heart Health' at 11:30 AM. The following day, Prof. Dr. Simon Steib will present 'Exercise as Medicine' at the same time. Nutrition expert Rebecca Steiner will then share heart health tips on 1st October, also at 11:30 AM. The final session on 2nd October features Mona Henz demonstrating relaxation techniques.

Daily activities include cardiovascular health screenings from 8 AM to 5 PM at three university locations. CPR training will run each afternoon from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Zeughaus-Mensa in the Marstall. Participants can also join Pilates, full-body workouts, and rope skipping sessions scheduled throughout the week. More details and registration for all events are available on the Univital homepage.

The programme offers a mix of expert talks, practical training, and health checks. Students and employees can access screenings, fitness sessions, and lifesaving skills during the four-day event. Organisers encourage everyone to attend and take advantage of the free resources provided.
