Kapiva's revenue soars 50% in FY25, but rising costs deepen losses
Kapiva, a leading Ayurveda-based wellness brand, reported a 50% rise in operational revenue for FY25, reaching Rs 342 crore. Despite strong sales growth, the company's net loss widened to Rs 69 crore due to surging expenses across multiple areas.
Founded in 2015, Kapiva has expanded rapidly in India's plant-based health sector. By 2024, it secured over $50 million in funding, grew its retail presence to 1,000+ stores, and achieved revenues exceeding $30 million. The brand dominates 15-20% of the online Ayurveda market, outperforming competitors like Banyan Botanicals and Forest Essentials through aggressive e-commerce strategies and product innovation in juices and supplements.
Revenue growth in FY25 was driven by higher product sales, supported by wider distribution and rising consumer demand for preventive health solutions. Total income, including non-operating earnings, reached nearly Rs 349 crore. However, costs climbed sharply, with overall expenses rising 44% to Rs 418 crore.
Advertising and promotional spending surged 53% to Rs 188 crore, becoming the company's largest expense at roughly 45% of total costs. Legal and professional charges doubled to Rs 16 crore, while employee benefits grew 28% to Rs 59 crore. Material costs also jumped 43% to Rs 97 crore, and logistics expenses stood at Rs 22 crore.
Kapiva's FY25 results highlight both rapid revenue expansion and mounting financial pressures. The company's aggressive marketing and distribution efforts have strengthened its market position, but rising costs have deepened its net loss to Rs 69 crore. The brand continues to focus on scaling its Ayurveda and plant-based product lines amid growing consumer interest.
