Khabarovsk Krai to open 15 new kindergartens by 2027 for infants under three
Khabarovsk Krai is expanding childcare options with 15 new kindergartens planned by 2027. The projects focus on infants under three, with most facilities set for Khabarovsk, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, and Nikolaevsk-on-Amur. Funding comes from United Russia's People's Program and the Family national project, marking the first nursery group of its kind in the region.
Two large kindergartens opened last year in Komsomolsk-on-Amur and Khabarovsk, providing 350 and 320 places respectively. Now, nine more are set to open by the end of 2027 under the same initiative. Construction has already begun on two sites, while design plans for seven others will be finalised in 2026.
In Solnechny, the Luchik kindergarten is undergoing a 60-million-ruble modernisation. A new nursery group for babies as young as three months will open there. State Duma Deputy Maxim Ivanov and district head Sergei Semenov recently inspected the upgraded facility. Meanwhile, reconstruction of Komsomolsk-on-Amur's Kindergarten No. 134 is nearly finished. Contractor StroyMaster LLC is expected to complete the work before the new academic year. Though the swimming pool restoration isn't in the current budget, it has been included in the next phase of the People's Program.
The expansion will add hundreds of childcare spots across the region. New facilities in key districts like Industrialny and Krasnaya Rechka aim to ease demand for early years care. Officials confirm the projects remain on schedule for completion by 2027.
