Komi Science Center Opens Labs to Public for Russian Science Day

The Komi Science Center will open its doors to the public in February as part of Russian Science Day celebrations. Visitors of all ages can explore labs, attend lectures, and take part in hands-on workshops. The events will run across multiple days, offering rare access to scientific research.

On February 5, the Institute of Physiology will kick off the programme with guided lab tours and psychophysiological testing. Attendees can also join lectures on the heart's electrical activity and psychological assessment methods.

The following day, February 6, the institute will expand its offerings with tours of the Cardiac Cellular Electrophysiology Lab. Lectures will cover topics like sports nutrition and the connection between atoms and human health. Psychophysiological tests will remain available for participants.

Additional lab tours, focusing on cardiac physiology, will take place on February 10 and 11. Throughout the event, visitors can examine rare scientific artefacts, engage in interactive workshops, and hear talks from leading researchers. Families, school groups, and curious individuals are all welcome to attend.

The Open House Days provide direct access to cutting-edge research and expert discussions. No other institutes in the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences have announced similar public events for Russian Science Day. The Komi Science Center's programme remains the only confirmed opportunity for such engagement in the region.
