Kriens renews partnership to expand free sports and community programs for youth
The city of Kriens has renewed its partnership with the Weekendsport Kriens association for another four years. This collaboration supports two key programs, Halle für Alle and Midnight Move, which encourage physical activity and social inclusion. Local officials highlight their importance in building a child-friendly community.
The renewed service agreement ensures the continuation of Halle für Alle, a free games program open to children, teens, and parents every Sunday afternoon. No club membership or fees are required, making it accessible to all. The initiative aligns with Kriens' legislative goals in movement, health, and social participation.
Midnight Move complements this effort by offering supervised sports and social events for young people aged 12 and older. Held every Saturday evening, it provides a structured space for teens to engage in activities and connect with peers.
City Councilor Marco Frauenknecht praised the extended partnership, stressing its role in fostering a welcoming environment for young residents. Both programs create opportunities for free people while breaking down financial and social barriers.
The four-year extension secures ongoing funding and support for these initiatives. They will continue to offer free, inclusive spaces for Kriens' youth and families. The city's commitment reflects its broader strategy to promote health, movement, and community cohesion.
