Magadan's seniors get free wellness programs for fitness and fun

Two new wellness programs for seniors—"Cardio-Tennis" and "Silver Badminton"—have launched in the regional capital. Residents of Kolyma over 55 can now attend regular sports sessions free of charge, according to the press service of the Magadan Oblast government.

The programs were made possible by a cooperation agreement signed between Natalia Bologova, the regional Minister of Labor and Social Policy, and Nikolai Yaroshchuk, President of the Magadan Badminton Federation and a city Duma deputy from the United Russia party.

This initiative is a key part of the party's "United Country—Accessible Environment" project, which Yaroshchuk oversees in the region. Igor Ryzhenkov, a fellow faction member and deputy, also played an active role in organizing the training sessions.

Coaches and organizers note that the courts buzz with excitement during these sessions—some participants pick up a racket for the first time, while others joyfully relive their youth. The project's main goal is not athletic records but health, vitality, and warm camaraderie.

Classes are led by professional instructors at the "Territory of Sport" Sports Complex (4 Kolymskoe Highway, Building 4).
