Meet Simba: The Playful Bully-Type Dog Needing X-Rays Before Rehoming
The Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA) is asking for public support to help Simba, a one-year-old Bully Type dog in their care. Recently celebrating his first birthday, Simba now needs an X-ray to check his hips before he can be rehomed. The charity has thanked supporters for their ongoing generosity while urging further donations to cover his vet costs. Simba arrived at the GSPCA just before turning one, where staff quickly noticed his playful nature. Senior Animal Care Assistant Seb Goman described him as a 'goofy boy' with a big personality. However, a routine check revealed concerns about his hips, requiring an X-ray before he can move to a permanent home.
The GSPCA cares for thousands of dogs each year through its boarding and rehoming services. In 2023 alone, the charity supported 1,247 dogs—847 were taken in, while 400 received help through advice and community support. Simba is now one of many dogs relying on their expertise as he waits for a suitable, experienced home. To assist with his treatment, the GSPCA has launched an appeal for donations. These funds will directly cover Simba's medical needs and ongoing care. More details about his story and how to help are available on the GSPCA's website.
Simba remains in the GSPCA's care while awaiting his X-ray and a forever home. The charity continues to rely on public donations to support dogs like him, ensuring they receive the necessary treatment and attention. Those interested in rehoming or contributing can find further information online.
