Mother delivers twins in BMW's front seat after traffic jam chaos

A Staffordshire mother gave birth to twins in the front seat of her partner’s BMW after getting stuck in traffic. Chloe Weston, from Burton-upon-Trent, had planned a C-section but delivered the babies unexpectedly in the car’s footwell. Weston’s waters broke a week before her scheduled C-section. While rushing to Queen’s Hospital Burton, heavy traffic forced them to stop. With no time to reach the hospital, she gave birth to her first twin in the car.

The second twin, Kyro, arrived just a minute later. Both babies were wrapped in pink blankets donated by a passing stranger to keep them warm. Kyro later spent two days in intensive care due to low blood sugar. The twins remained in hospital for a week before going home. Weston described the car birth as her ‘easiest’ compared to previous hospital deliveries. She even said she would consider giving birth in a car again if she had another child.

The twins, Koah and Kyro, are now home with their family. Weston’s experience highlights how unexpected events can change even the best-laid plans. The donated blankets and quick thinking helped ensure the newborns stayed safe during the unplanned delivery.
