Novo Nordisk targets U.S. employers to expand weight-loss drug access
Novo Nordisk is expanding its reach in the U.S. weight-loss drug market by negotiating direct deals with employers. The company aims to make obesity medications more accessible through corporate wellness schemes. The pharmaceutical firm is in discussions with several U.S. businesses to include anti-obesity drugs as part of employee benefits. Under these proposed agreements, companies would either subsidise or fully reimburse the cost of the medications.
Talks are already underway with individual firms to partially cover the treatments for their staff. The move reflects Novo Nordisk’s push to strengthen its position in a growing market for weight-loss solutions. If successful, these partnerships would allow employees to access obesity drugs through workplace wellness programmes. The initiative could widen availability while reducing out-of-pocket costs for patients.
