Workers in Protective Gear Disinfect Vehicles at Checkpoints

Novosibirsk imposes strict checkpoints to halt animal infection spread

Authorities have set up checkpoints in several villages across Novosibirsk Region to confiscate livestock, according to Sib.fm.

Journalists traveling to the village of Kozikha via Verkh-Irmeny found their route blocked by a checkpoint. Workers in full protective gear were disinfecting vehicles, while police officers checked drivers' documents.

Another checkpoint has been established at the entrance from the federal highway. Both posts began operating overnight on March 20 as part of quarantine measures to prevent the spread of animal infections.
