Pampanga Governor Honors Surgeons for Advancing Public Health at Major Convention

Pampanga Governor Lilia 'Nanay' Pineda honoured surgeons and healthcare workers for their commitment to public health during a major medical convention. Speaking at the 52nd Philippine College of Surgeons Midyear Convention, she praised their role in delivering quality care and improving community well-being. The event took place at the SMX Convention Center in Clark Freeport.

The governor’s recognition came as part of the convention’s theme, Precision Care in Surgery by Cultivating Leadership and Competence. She emphasised that precision care goes beyond treatment—it prevents suffering, upholds patients’ dignity, and offers hope through compassionate service.

Pineda highlighted key healthcare advancements in Pampanga, including the opening of the Pampanga Provincial Hospital-Clark. This facility, the first government hospital inside a freeport, expands access to medical services for residents. She also mentioned the *Alagang Nanay Preventive Health Care Program*, which focuses on early diagnosis, disease prevention, and accessible treatment. The event was attended by prominent figures, including former President and now Pampanga 2nd District Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Board Member Kaye Naguit, and medical professionals from across the region.

The governor’s remarks underscored the critical role of healthcare workers in shaping public health. Their efforts, combined with new facilities and preventive programs, aim to strengthen medical services for communities in Pampanga. The convention served as a platform to reinforce collaboration between medical leaders and local government.
