Popular meatloaf recalled over bacterial contamination risk in multiple batches

A popular meatloaf product sold nationwide has been recalled due to possible bacterial contamination. The affected batches may cause nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea if eaten. Authorities have warned consumers to check their fridges and freezers immediately.

The recall affects Ofen-Fleischkäs fein produced by Rehm. The specific batch in question carries the best-before date 01.04.2026 and the batch number 2552100802. However, additional packages with best-before dates of 13.02.2027, 10.03.2027, and 15.04.2027 are also under investigation.

The contamination was discovered during routine testing by the product's importer. No illnesses have been reported so far, but the company has acted quickly to remove the affected stock from shelves.

Consumers who have bought the product are advised not to eat it. Instead, they can return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.

The recall applies to a widely available meatloaf product with several best-before dates. Shoppers are being urged to check their purchases and return any affected items. The company has not yet confirmed whether further batches will be withdrawn.
