Primal Supplements recalls 'Volume' due to hidden Viagra ingredient risks

Primal Supplements Group LLC has announced a recall of its Primal Herbs 'Volume' sexual enhancement product. The move comes after tests revealed the presence of sildenafil, an undeclared ingredient that poses serious health risks. Consumers who bought the supplement between July 2 and September 19, 2025, are advised to stop using it immediately.

The recalled product was sold exclusively through the company's website, primalherbs.com. It came in round, 8.5-ounce containers with green labels. The issue stems from sildenafil, the active component in Viagra, which was not listed on the packaging. This ingredient can cause dangerous interactions, particularly for those taking nitrate medications for conditions like heart disease or high blood pressure.

The company is offering affected customers a free replacement or full store credit. This recall follows a pattern of similar actions by the FDA in recent years. Between 2024 and 2026, multiple products—including Neptune's Fix Extra Strength capsules, EHG Repair Anti-Wrinkle Cream, and supplements from brands like Double Wood—were pulled from shelves for containing undeclared erectile dysfunction drugs. These hidden ingredients have repeatedly raised concerns over potential health hazards. Sildenafil can lead to severe complications when combined with certain prescription drugs. For people with diabetes, high cholesterol, or hypertension, the risks are even greater. The FDA has warned that such undeclared pharmaceuticals can trigger life-threatening drops in blood pressure.

Primal Supplements Group has taken steps to address the issue by providing refunds or replacements. Customers who purchased the affected product during the specified period should contact the company for further instructions. The recall highlights ongoing concerns about undeclared pharmaceutical ingredients in over-the-counter supplements.
