Organised by the Russian Society for the Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases (RSPNCD) and hosted by Sverdlovsk Regional Medical College, the event brought together nearly 300 delegates from 20 regions across Russia and Kazakhstan. The forum focused on preventive healthcare and the role of mid-level medical staff in combating non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Tatiana Savinova, Deputy Governor and Health Minister of Sverdlovsk Region, officially opened the forum. The discussions highlighted the importance of early prevention to extend healthy lifespans, aligning with the 'Healthy Longevity Medicine' initiative. Best practices for preserving the health of Sverdlovsk residents were also shared during the #HealthyTogether telethon.
Sverdlovsk Region currently employs 38,000 mid-level medical professionals, one of the largest teams in the Russian Federation. The region’s medical education system is also expanding, with Sverdlovsk Regional Medical College set to graduate 4,000 specialists in 2026. Governor Denis Pasler has prioritised modernising medical training, allocating 500 million rubles in 2026 to upgrade the college’s infrastructure. The college, which currently enrols 14,600 students, plays a key role in preparing the next generation of healthcare workers. Forum participants stressed the need for better training and resources to support mid-level staff in preventing chronic diseases.
