Russia's Summer Wellness Campaign Teaches Kids Healthy Habits Nationwide

A new summer wellness campaign has launched across Russia, bringing lectures and workshops to children’s camps nationwide. Organised by Znanie Society, the project also aims to bridge healthcare gaps between cities and rural communities. The first event took place at Pushkin Regional Scientific Library in Magadan on June 5, focusing on healthy living principles. Anna Zhukova, a lecturer with Znanie Society and a Master of Sports in ski jumping, led the discussion in Magadan. She stressed that a healthy lifestyle relies on simple, consistent habits: balanced meals, regular exercise, and proper sleep. Zhukova also highlighted modern hygiene practices, stress reduction techniques, and managing screen time.

The campaign covers a wide range of topics beyond health, including career advice, science, technology, and digital literacy. Special events will coincide with national celebrations like Russia Day, Day of Family, Love, and Faithfulness, and Flag Day. Zhukova encouraged gradual changes, setting realistic goals, and tracking progress. She noted Russia’s national project *Long and Active Life*, which targets a life expectancy of 78 years by 2030.

The summer initiative will continue in children’s camps, offering workshops and talks on wellness and personal development. By addressing urban-rural healthcare disparities, the project seeks to promote long-term health improvements across the country. Further events are planned around key national holidays.
