Russian Mother Welcomes Her 15th Child in Record-Breaking Family

A woman from Kamyshlov has welcomed her 15th child, a baby boy named Kostey. The newborn arrived healthy at a regional perinatal centre in the Sverdlovsk region. Both mother and child are reported to be in good health after the birth. The 49-centimetre baby weighed 2,400 grams at birth, making him the smallest of Lilia's children. Her eldest daughter is already 24 years old, while the name Kostey was picked by her eldest son.

The family now includes eight boys and four girls. This latest arrival marks the 12th child born in a perinatal centre for Lilia.

Since these centres opened in the Sverdlovsk region, over 250,000 births have taken place across all facilities. The Ministry of Health continues to expand the network, improving care for pregnant women in complex cases. The birth went smoothly, with no complications reported. Regional health officials highlight the growing role of perinatal centres in supporting large families. Over 250,000 deliveries have now been recorded in these facilities since their introduction.
