Salmonella outbreak triggers wider recall of Superfoods Inc. supplements sold on Amazon

A dietary supplement recall has widened after salmonella contamination sickened dozens of people. The manufacturer, Superfoods Inc., has now extended the alert to Puerto Rico, Guam, the Virgin Islands, and the United Kingdom. The move follows reports of 45 illnesses and 12 hospitalisations across 21 U.S. states.

The recall initially covered Live it Up Super Greens supplements in Original and Wild Berry flavours. These were sold in different sizes and packaging through the company’s website from September 2024 and on Amazon.com since July 30, 2025. Investigators later found the products may also have been distributed via unauthorised third-party sites, including eBay.com and Walmart.com.

The expansion came after officials confirmed the contaminated supplements had reached additional regions. Customers in Puerto Rico, Guam, the Virgin Islands, and the UK had purchased the products through the company’s website and Amazon.com. The manufacturer, based in New York, has not yet issued specific instructions for affected consumers beyond the initial recall notice.

The recall now spans multiple countries and territories. Health officials continue to monitor the situation as 45 cases of salmonella have been confirmed. Consumers are advised to check their purchases and follow any updated guidance from Superfoods Inc.
