Singapore's GP clinics stay open during Chinese New Year for minor ailments

Over 1,000 GP clinics across Singapore will remain open during Chinese New Year from 16 to 18 February. The Ministry of Health (MOH) has reminded the public to choose the right medical facility based on their condition's urgency to ensure faster care for those with serious emergencies.

The MOH has listed opening hours and locations for 1,095 clinics on the GPGoWhere website. Patients with minor ailments are advised to visit these GP or 24-hour clinics instead of hospitals. Appointments should be made in advance where possible.

For non-emergencies, the NurseFirst helpline is available daily from 8am to 11pm at 6262 6262. Callers can get guidance on where to seek treatment if unsure. The helpline aims to reduce unnecessary pressure on emergency services.

The public is also urged not to dial 995 for minor issues to ensure the emergency hotline stays free for life-threatening cases that need immediate attention. Serious or critical conditions should go directly to hospital Accident & Emergency departments.

With GP clinics operating throughout the holiday, residents have accessible options for minor health concerns. The MOH's resources help direct patients to the right care provider to ensure emergency services stay available for those who need them most.
