Rospotrebnadzor confirms safety of sea water on Sochi beaches before the season

Sochi's beaches pass rigorous safety checks ahead of summer season

Ahead of the summer swimming season, Sochi’s beaches have undergone thorough safety checks. Experts from Rospotrebnadzor tested water quality and inspected the seabed to ensure safe conditions for visitors. Teams analysed over 1,000 seawater samples from nearly 180 beaches. The tests covered microbiological, chemical, and virological indicators, including traces of petroleum. Every sample met the required hygienic standards.

Divers also examined the seabed in swimming zones up to 50 metres from the shore. Their inspections reached depths of 15 metres to confirm no hidden hazards threatened bathers. The results confirm that all monitored beaches in Sochi are ready for the season. With water quality and underwater areas declared safe, authorities have given the green light for swimming activities to begin.
