SSB Battalion Hosts Millet Exhibition to Promote Healthier Diets and Food Security

The 24th Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Rangia recently hosted a Shree Anna (Millets) Mela-Exhibition. The event aimed to raise awareness about the nutritional benefits of coarse grains. Personnel and their families attended to learn about millet-based foods and their health advantages.

Commandant HK Gupta, who leads the 24th Battalion, inaugurated the exhibition. He emphasised the importance of millets in promoting food security and supporting farmers' economic stability. Gupta, who is also linked to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), spoke about the grains' role in preventing diabetes, obesity, and heart disease.

Over 35 varieties of millets were showcased, with traditional dishes and sweets prepared for attendees. Visitors sampled the food while receiving detailed information on the nutritional value of each type. The event focused on encouraging healthier dietary choices through the inclusion of millets.

Organisers highlighted how millets could improve overall well-being. The exhibition also stressed their potential in combating lifestyle-related illnesses. Families and personnel left with a clearer understanding of how these grains could benefit their daily diets.

The Shree Anna Mela-Exhibition successfully promoted millets as a key part of a balanced diet. Attendees gained practical knowledge about incorporating these grains into meals. The initiative reinforced the link between traditional foods and long-term health benefits.
