Student volunteers bridge generations through community service and tradition

The 'Privet' volunteer squad at Zarinsk School has spent three years working on a community project for the International 'Common Cause – PRO' Competition. Led by school psychologist Irina Yuryevna Veshnyakova, the group of 25 students from grades 4 to 11 focuses on preserving traditions through mutual support across generations. Their efforts have earned recognition in both regional and international volunteer competitions. The squad's activities cover a wide range of initiatives. They organise morning exercise sessions, sports relays, and 'Health Days' with parental involvement. Volunteers also create social media videos, informational displays, and brochures promoting healthy lifestyles, alongside launching online challenges.

Their community work extends to supporting elderly residents through the 'Kindness Mission' campaign. Tasks include clearing snow and leaves, as well as assisting with minor household chores. Additionally, the group partners with the 'Women's Movement of United Russia' (Alapayevsk branch) to visit the Alapayevsk orphanage and perform at a charity concert at the Kostino Local History Museum.

The squad is also taking part in the nationwide campaign 'For You, Our Loved Ones'. They collect humanitarian aid and write letters of support for the families of servicemembers involved in the special military operation. Every member has achieved the gold badge in the GTO (Ready for Labor and Defense) fitness standards, reflecting their commitment to physical fitness. The squad has already received awards in competitions such as 'Our Homeland Begins With Us' and 'Professionals of the Urals'. While their participation in the 'Common Cause – PRO' Competition continues, no current data is available on the number of schools involved or the evaluation criteria. Their ongoing projects remain focused on community support, health promotion, and intergenerational solidarity.
