Sverdlovsk Region overhauls emergency medical services with new tech and funding
"I extend my warmest congratulations to the emergency medical services workers of Sverdlovsk Region on your professional holiday! You are on the front lines in the fight for life. Today, as every day, many of you are on duty. It is an immense responsibility—often, every minute counts—but the result is lives saved and grateful patients.
In 2025 alone, Sverdlovsk's emergency teams responded to nearly a million calls across the Urals. Of course, much depends on the service's technical and material resources, and we continue to modernize them. In 2026, we plan to procure 52 vehicles, including six mobile intensive care units and three modular emergency substations. Over 30 million rubles have been allocated for renovations at three emergency medical departments. We are building a unified emergency care system in the region, with standardized approaches to ensure speed and quality of service.
Emergency situations demand composure, precision, and swift decision-making. I am deeply grateful to all 4,000-plus employees of the emergency medical service for their professionalism and dedication to the people of the Urals. Special thanks go to the veterans for passing on their experience and mentorship. Happy holiday! Wishing you happiness, good health, kindness, and prosperity!" the regional head wrote in his Max channel.
Earlier, Oblastnaya Gazeta reported that a unified emergency dispatch center would be established in Sverdlovsk Region.
