Two boys hospitalized after water incident at Matthiessen State Park

Two boys were airlifted to hospital after an incident at Matthiessen State Park on Friday. One of them The incident took place at around 12:45 p.m. during a school field trip. When police arrived, bystanders were already performing CPR on the unconscious boy. Emergency responders revived him before both children were flown to a hospital in Peoria.

Both boys were breathing and alert upon arrival. However, they showed signs of shock. Medical staff confirmed their injuries were not life-threatening.
