Ultras Group Honors Late Friend with €10,000 Donation to Pediatric Oncology

The pediatric oncology department at Braunschweig Municipal Hospital has received a €10,000 donation from the ultras group Schaika Braunschweig. The gift honours the memory of their friend Mark, who died of cancer in 2014. Members of the group, including Luca F. and Leon M., presented the funds to hospital staff during a recent visit to the general hospital.

The donation was handed over by Schaika Braunschweig members Luca F. and Leon M. They met with Dr. Andreas Beilken, head of the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, to deliver the funds. Luca explained that the money would support the oncology team's work and preserve Mark's legacy.

The group raised the €10,000 through private initiatives at a joint event. Dr. Beilken thanked them, noting that the donation would help provide care beyond medical treatment for children and their families.

Mark's memory remains strong within the hospital. During the visit, Dr. Johanna Scheer-Preis, another staff member, joined the ultras to honour him. The group's connection to the department dates back to their friend's battle with cancer a decade ago.

The €10,000 will assist the pediatric oncology department in offering broader support to patients and families. Schaika Braunschweig's contribution ensures that Mark's impact continues through ongoing care. The hospital staff and the ultras group have maintained a lasting bond since his passing.
