Uttar Pradesh To Set Up 5 New Integrated AYUSH Colleges & Hospitals Across Key Divisions

Uttar Pradesh Launches Five New AYUSH Colleges to Boost Traditional Medicine

The Uttar Pradesh government is set to open five new Integrated AYUSH Colleges and Hospitals across the state. These institutions will focus on traditional medicine while also offering modern medical education. Officials say the move will improve healthcare access and reduce the need for students to relocate to major cities for studies. The colleges will be built in Devipatan, Mirzapur, Meerut, Agra, and Basti divisions. Land for the projects has already been identified in Gonda, Mirzapur, Ghaziabad, Agra, and Basti districts. Four of the five plots have been officially transferred to the AYUSH Department, with the Basti site’s paperwork nearly finalised.

Each institution will serve as a centre for education, research, and innovation in traditional medicine. Courses will cover Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy, and modern health sciences. The government aims to encourage research into Ayurvedic medicines, yoga therapy, and lifestyle-based treatments. The initiative is designed to create a skilled workforce for AYUSH-based healthcare services. By expanding medical education in rural and semi-urban areas, the project hopes to cut down on student migration to larger cities. It also seeks to strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s reputation as a hub for AYUSH education and wellness.

The new colleges will boost healthcare infrastructure and promote scientific research in traditional medicine. Once operational, they are expected to provide better training opportunities and improve access to medical education across the state. The government’s long-term goal is to position Uttar Pradesh as a leader in integrated healthcare and wellness.
