WeightWatchers relaunches with bold health expansions and new leadership
WeightWatchers has made several major moves to expand its health services and improve access to weight-loss treatments. The company recently relisted on Nasdaq after emerging from bankruptcy this summer. New partnerships, leadership appointments, and programme launches now aim to strengthen its position in the wellness sector.
The company has deepened its alliance with Novo Nordisk to boost access to FDA-approved GLP-1 medications like Wegovy. Members will benefit from real-time stock alerts, automatic discount coupons, and home delivery options. A separate deal with Amazon Pharmacy will also speed up medication access for Clinic members, offering free two-day shipping for Prime users—with same-day delivery in select areas.
WeightWatchers has also broadened its leadership team. Dr. Kim Boyd now serves as chief medical officer, while SoulCycle co-founder Julie Rice joins as the first chief experience officer. These hires follow the acquisition of Peoplehood, a platform designed to enhance community engagement and coaching support.
In addition, the company launched a menopause programme led by Queen Latifah. The initiative provides hormone therapy guidance, GLP-1 medication options, and lifestyle advice tailored to women in midlife.
The changes come as WeightWatchers rebuilds after its financial restructuring. Faster medication delivery, new leadership, and specialised programmes now form part of its strategy. The company's return to Nasdaq marks a fresh start with a stronger focus on accessible health solutions.
