Wolfsburg launches free neighbourhood care consultations for families in need
Free, confidential care consultations are now available in three Wolfsburg neighbourhoods. Advisors Manuela Ruhland and Katja Vahrenkamp-Nowak are visiting local residents to discuss support options. The service aims to help those in need of care and their families navigate daily challenges.
The neighbourhood-based sessions cover practical topics like care levels, home organisation, and short-term or day care. Advisors also assist with preparing for medical service visits and easing the burden on relatives. All consultations are independent, comprehensive, and free of charge.
In Lüstringen, meetings take place at the Social Shop on Stadtweg 63, every Thursday from 2 to 4 pm. The Johannis quarter hosts sessions at the neighbourhood office on Johannisstraße, Wednesdays from 10 am to 12 pm. For residents in the Nette quarter, advisors are available at the Lerchenstraße community centre on Wednesdays from 9 to 11 am. The new service addresses local gaps in care provision, such as limited support options, isolation of care-dependent individuals, and bureaucratic hurdles. By offering on-site advice and network-building, it helps families assess needs and access available resources. The central care support centre remains based in City Hall 2 for broader assistance.
Residents can now book face-to-face consultations in their own neighbourhoods. The initiative provides direct help with care-related issues while reducing travel and paperwork. Appointments are open to anyone in need of guidance or relief.
